As part of the Council's response to the Climate Emergency we've teamed up with CrowdfunderUK to launch Plymouth Climate Challenge.
This great competition is something different to anything we've ever done before and highlights the work the Council is doing to address the Climate Emergency and empower local residents to deliver change through the philosophy of the Plymouth Plan.
Seven shortlisted projects have already received a boost of £250 from the Council and specialist coaching from CrowdfunderUK. These projects have now launched their crowdfunding campaigns and are asking for your support in the Plymouth Climate Challenge.
The top three supported projects will be awarded an additional £2,500 and be invited to the Plymouth Climate Challenge live event on Thursday 3 December. At this virtual event, the winner will also scoop an additional £5,000 of funding through the Cities of Service 'Engaged Cities Award' won by Plymouth Council last year.
Further to this, we're continuing to pledge to the crowdfunding projects via the City Change Fund, with up to 50 per cent of a projects target (to a maximum of £30,000 plus a potential £15,000 from the Climate Emergency Bonus) being available, should a project meet the fund's criteria and priorities.
