News PP Climate Statement

Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon have all declared climate emergencies and recognise that climate change is a significant issue that requires urgent attention.

The Plymouth and South West Devon Climate Emergency Planning Statement has now been adopted by the three Councils covering the Joint Local Plan area.

All planning applications submitted from 1 December 2022 will be considered against the mitigation and adaptation requirements set out in the Climate Emergency Planning Statement.

The document is available on our climate emergency planning web page and a new interactive webtool is available to help applicants understand what is required.
