A Bright Future 2021 to 2026 was adopted by full Council in September 2021 as the Children and Young People’s Plan for Plymouth. The document was written with the support of partners and sets out the shared ambition for the children of Plymouth to have the best opportunities as they grow up.
A Bright Future 2021 to 2026 has three priority areas, where we want to make a difference to children and young people:
- Safe
- Healthy and Happy
- Aspire and Achieve
The plan is underpinned by commitment to the following principles and approaches:
- Using iThrive in the design and delivery of services
- Trauma informed
- We are strengths based
- Improving the quality of education for all will support improved life chances
- We are restorative and reflective
Progress against the priorities in a Bright Future will be tracked and challenged via the Health and Wellbeing Board and the Integrated Care System for Devon, via the Local Care Partnership (Together for Plymouth).
The Plan supports Policy HEA2 in delivering the best outcomes for children, young people and families and seeking to ensure the city is committed to help create the conditions where all children, young people and families in the city can thrive in a safe environment.
